Posters in the Hall

Today in class, many students created posters of inspirational quotes to share in the hall. However, the students in Study Hall noticed that many of the quotations are from White men even though the people reading the posters are very diverse. We think this is odd. Do you think it is wrong that SPA students just post the words of Caucasian men in our halls? Why or why not?

I do think it is wrong for our campus to post quotes that are mainly from Caucasian men and women. The reason is because I think that many of our students only know people that are famous because we mainly focus on American history instead of other people that are famous for example Tupac Shakir, Biggie Smalls, and Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta. I think that many students in our school need to look deeply into other people other then people that are recognized in educational books. I understand that many people don't really care what I might have to say but many places where mostly one race is residing at like barrios, or the hood maybe a reservation for example. I just think that we should look at unity more on this campus. Also, I think that we should have a ethnicity group on our campus like we can possibly have different races come together and talk about our background. We should have all of the quotes scrabbled up so that there wont be a whole cluster of white peoples quotes, instead it would be a groups of different races.

Free Choice Blog Post

On my free choice blog post I will be writing about my incident that happened on the softball field when I was trying to demonstrate the girls softball team how to do a slide. I got ready to do my slide. I was wearing shorts and a weight lifting shirt with the sides cut off. So I got ready on third base and when they told me to go I ran to home and then when I slide my shorts went up to my butt and I got a major wedgie and everyone saw my right butt cheek. When I got up I was in pain and everyone including me were laughing our butt off. It was fun I got a couple of scratches though but on the bright side I got better at my slides because I usually miss time my slide.

Playwrights Project Inspired by Music Paragraph

In class today we listen to music and tried to produce a scene out of what you think the music was. At first I thought it was boring then when I closed my eyes it struck me and I loved to write about what I though from the music. While I listen to the first 2 songs I thought about a broken love then the next song I thought about a journey then all of a sudden a evil casted on the girl that was doing the journey. When we were done I really wanted to keep working on it because it got me stuck to the music. I loved what we did it was awsome.

Third Quarter Awards Review

On Friday, we had a awards ceramony and was really bored because it was in the auditorium during 5th period. All of the main faculty of the campus were there giving props and giving awards out left and right. A part of the asembly that I liked was when Mrs. Taylor went up and recognized all of the Key Club members and we got a certificate of membership. I hope the next award ceremony will be more exciting because I will be getting called up from right to left. So it was a okay assembly but other then that it was boring jkjjkjkj.

Homonyms Poems

Who Cares

Who cares when you smell a scent from a mile away.
Who cares when you won a cent from a blue deer that happened to fall in a hole.
Who cares when you wear two weak knots in your hair.
Who cares when you buy a rats tail that was sewed on Britney Spears.
Who cares when you wait in a line to check you’re weight for your job.
Who cares when you rowed for a whole day when the wind and dirt blew in your eyes.
Who cares if Obama sent Mars a peace offer.
Who cares whether or not you write with your right or your left.
I care but nobody knows.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection

On the Fourth Quarter Kickoff my team lost, and I did not have any fun on the games and activities that we played. The games that we played were capture the flag, then a game with teamwork involving water, and lastly we played waffle ball and my team again lost at that. The reason that my team lost was because most of them other then estimated ten of them played the sports. I know that we should be grateful that we didn't have any class time that day but they need to fix the activities way much more. My thoughts and feeling on the kickoff were stupid and a waste of time (my opinions don't take it offensive Priester or anyone else). Like we could of done something that involved each individual class year. My team lost every game but I had fun because I was with my bro Jose Gonzalez (aka BiG KnoCkOut). We were on the same team so we had fun also I think that the teams were so totally uneven but like I said thats my opinion.

3rd Quarter Reflection

The things that I have learned in my third quarter are quite a lot. I have learned a lot about symbolism and allegory. Which are objects that are represented as human trait and feelings.  Also, I learned on how to complete a quick graphic organizer plus I learned about poetry. In poetry I know how to write a decent poem without actually thinking about it. I have messed up a lot on my but I am trying my best to keep my grades up I know that I have went up and down on all my grades. I am trying my best to stay up. I even am trying my best to learn more then usually on all my classes. Miss Priester is a really good teacher but my perspective is that she is to nerdy sometimes but keep up the good work and thanks for the good literacy advise.

Fourth Quarter Goals

What was your greatest accomplishment of last quarter? What did you have to do to achieve it? My greatest accomplishment was when I did a 360 degree turn on my academic life. I had most F's and I got them up to C and up. I worked my but off to accomplish these goals. For example, I stayed after school to work on some of my homework that I couldn't finish.

Write another brief paragraph answering the following questions:
What is your goal for this quarter? List three things you will need to do to achieve this; you may use bullets here.

My goals for this quarter are the same that I made last quarter just this time I am going to keep my grades up during the whole quarter this time. Also I am going to be working on the following:
  • behavior up to par
  • No kickouts
  • Turning in Homework
  • Not getting side tracked from my studies
Those are some of my goals that I have so far but other them that I am grateful for all of my teachers that help me succeed. Thanks

"Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?" Blabberize Narrative

I was resting my eyes and all of a sudden one of my fellow soldiers told me to get up because the party was moving. I sat there for two more minutes when he asked me if I was asleep I was like “ohh No!!” Then when I got up I followed my peer into the wild dark War. When we were walking all I can think about is Billy Boy. How in the world can he die? He died of a heart attack that is how. He is all I can think about right now. My first day at war and I have seen someone die already and there is nothing I could of done about it. I just cant wait till we make it to the sea because all we will have to worry about are the enemy ahead of us instead of both ways like how we are right now. I will most likely dig a hole and take a long restful nap in the hole and wake up to to the most beautifulest sun rise in the world. For now, I have to keep marching to the sea I just cant wait. The moon finally came out and my helmet was so heavy and loose on my head so I decided that when it turns morning I will fix the strap. I started to talk to the solider next to me about Billy Boy, it started off we were marching and Billy and all the other soliders were taught not to walk on the road just in case there might be landmines and booby traps. Then all of a sudden I start to see Billy walk on the road behind me in the distance. Next thing I saw and heard was Billy on the ground screaming his lungs out. Right when the doctor was putting the morphine into his veins Billy was already dead. Believe it or not he killed himself. He scared himself to death. Now the solider and I were on the green grass chewing gum just finishing the story. I started to think about it more clearly and next thing I know I just started to crack up in laughter. So Billy was wrapped in a death bag and they put him on a helicopter and right when it got to 20 feet in the air Billy comes flying out. I started to cry with laughter the solider next to me was telling me to shut up but I could not help myself I had to keep laughing. All I could think about is Billy died of FRIGHT.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Breaking News

I am standing here in the middle of a tragic incident! Our beloved Billy Boy has died in a tragic incident. The commanding officers of the Camp told us that on their daily perimeter watch our Billy Boy was walking the dirt road and ran into a mine. His right leg was severed from the hip down. They informed us that he was rushed to the base's urgent care and was dealt with right away. Unfortunately, another incident happened in the O.R (operation room) Billy woke up from the concussion and scared himself to a cardiac arrest. The on site medics tried the best to get him up and running again but our Beloved Billy was ready to leave. Billy will live on forever and be remembered forever.  Here are some images shot before Billy went to war. This is Marcos from S.P.A.D News back to you Dave!!!

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph

I actually would enlist in the military/any other branch. The reason I chose yes was because I would be helping my country and protect my country and others. Another reason is because it is really good pay then lastly it would also help me pay for collage. If I ever got drafted I wouldn't mind unless I have a family because I cant be that far from them but if I dont have a family I would love to get drafted because I would be exploring and traveling to new places.

Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison

What do primary and secondary sources both have in common? Primary and secondary sources both have in common are that they both contain facts and opinions. Primary sources are different to secondary sources because primary is straight facts because the person was there and then on secondary the writer writes about the event without participating in it. A few examples of primary sources are diaries, letters, autobiographies, and speeches. Then in secondary sources they are encyclopedia, biographies, reference books, and Most Newspapers and Magazine articles. Primary and Secondary sources are helpful because in primary sources it may contain facts and details only a eye witness can state. Then, in secondary sources it is helpful because it is on several different view points.

Feeling about the CAHSEE

My feeling on the CAHSEE exit exam is kinda scary because one of the reason is because I think that I might fail and look like a total retard in front of all my peers but I dont know I think I will be strong in the math but also maybe in the English. I haven't actually studied for the CAHSEE but I just dont know I might not be so sure about it. I know for sure though that I will try my hardest to succeed in doing my best on passing. Eve though I know that I might not actually feel like a professional on the test but I think for sure I will be feeling like a normal human being at grade level just kidding. I think now that I look at it I am ready for the test but other then that I am ready for the California High School Exit Exam.

Sophomore Paragraph

For me being a sophomore is the same as any other grade just that you have to wear the title as SOPHOMORE on your forhead everywhere you go just kidding. There are many reason why I don't really like being a sophomore one of the reason is because I have to deal with all of the sophomore teachers like Miss Priester but another reason is because I think I work better when I am with older peers like juniors or seniors. So me being a sophomore is okay but I also hate being it to.

San Pasqual Academy Dragons Symbolism

The mascot for San Pasqual Academy is a Dragon. This mascot symbolizes courage, strength, and energetic. The reason I choose these three are because even though other people are bigger then us doesn't mean that we will back down. Then for the strength it means that no matter what we go through we will always find a way past it. Last but not least energetic means that it can be 4th quarter in a basketball game and the starting five has been playing the whole game we still wont be tired because we are energetic dragons. When I became a Dragon I felt good because no matter what stands in my way of success I will shoot fire at them and go right through the barricade.
